Texas Amendments: Go Vote!

There are eleven new proposed Texas constitutional amendments that are being voted on November 3rd, 2009. If some propositions are passed it could change several things including governments taking of private property, allow a military veteran to hold office, and allow the legislature to provide for ad valorem taxation of a residence homestead solely on the basis of the property's value as a residence, not at the potentially higher commercial use value. News 8 Austin describes each individual proposition that is on the table and allows you to research which proposition that has been controversial. This article is important and everybody should read this because there could actually be changes that could affect Texas citizens. It is also a good way to resist change or pursue it just by going out and voting. The website even has an online poll of the top amendments that could pass or make the most change in Texas that you can vote for as well. See everybody on November 3rd, a list of voting areas can be found here.
